Looking at the subtleties of Japanese and East Asian culture through the lens of ancestral healing, and in the context of the colonial macro-culture. Zooming into the detail - from every grain of rice and DNA structures - to a broader perspective asking how cross-cultural memetic exchange can serve us.
My childhood years were spent in Japan, and my secondary and higher education in the UK. After graduating in Chinese Studies at Oxford, I spent time in Taiwan and Japan, studying movement and meditative traditions whilst working on farms and as a forest guide.
I write about my experiences as a mixed race woman with chronic illness, of Japan, Taiwan, and West Yorkshire, and look at these through a non-dual animist framework. I am currently working on a project looking at prehistoric shamanic ritual in Japan.
